For how Ridiculously Powerful content is, i would expect some trace of deletion/import/export.....
edits...
in the admin logs.
I just noted my admin_logs has literally No trace of any action taken in content.
I will be patching my module(somebody should KNOW someone just exported a site)
but I suggest this goes core...
The fact a Single block edit "can" bring a board to its knees by an unscrupulous individual...
some trace of this action seems prudent.

Adding mine:
1. System Settings add/import/export functionality for database/category configuration fields.
2.Field and record import/export.
3. Block Group Export/import
I just LOATH the evils of IPC transfer at the moment.

As someone is no doubt already thinking about the next version of ipC, I thought I'd start a wish list topic:
1) A plugin to build valid xml from custom databases.
2) A good menu manager section, that can build a menu from page structure and/or allow direct editing of the main menu (a bit like fusion menu (sorry Mat)).
3) Breadcrumbs that respect page folder structure.
4) A simple toggle to add a sidebar into a page with content fields for main content and sidebar.
5) Option for global sidebar.
6) Styles consistency between the new ckeditor, the bbcode page editor and the new .ipsType style set.
7) More plugins for board features such as gallery image slider, nexus mini-store.
8) Drag and drop sorting for custom database records.
9) Proper google map support for custom databases - it is highlighted in the sales bumph but is damn difficult to do and not supported by IPS.
10) Multiple attachments in articles as standard (with some nice templates built in).
Please... x

#2161566 My suggestions for the next release of IPC

Hello
I'm wanna keep it short so here it goes:
1- More control over parsing special tags. Currently, we don't have control as to how the comments tags are parsed. You just put it in your view template and it will do its magic. But we wanna be able to skin that to our liking. I wanna control how the comments are parsed and how many per page and were the editor is gonna be displayed and what goes in between the editor and the comments and so on and so forth.
2- Convenience. When you write your template, you get a handy side bar displaying common tags, but I still have to copy and paste the tag to where I want it to appear. I would love to see a click to insert functionality where I don't have to copy and paste. This at least would save errors in copying and pasting.
3- Ability to switch off revision savings. Sometimes, I would try many variations of a sentence or an appearance of a div, that would result in a gigantic amount of revisions contains nothing more than a silly change. Why would I wanna keep that over revisions with important changes? I'm not sure what to suggest here but maybe a preview or a way to temporarily change and apply the template without affecting the original?
4- Adopt the all new webdav framework of IPB 3.2. Since now we have the ability to edit our IPB CSSs and templates from the comfort of our desktop computers (....or laptops...or tab-tops), I suggest the same with IPC template. I wanna be able to use my fa editor for that because frankly speaking all the built in editors suck.
5- New Blocks!
7- I would expand 6 to make it event triggered templates. So for example a page/template is triggered based on useragent, time, date, member groups, birthday, no of posts....etc.
this is what I have so far
thanks

5- New Blocks!
- Search block where you'll be able to define which databases to search in, or pages or maybe which articles category.
- Login box. Update the existing one to match IPB framework such as ajax powered logining in, facebook, twitter. It would perfect if we could customize all that.
- headers blocks. I'm not sure about you guys but I'm not using IPB wrapper. because of that I need to manually include all the required IPB JSs and CSSs. Wouldn't be cool if we have the ability to just say: {parse IPB_JS_Headers} in order to include all the necessary IPB JSs?

I don't work for IPS either. And you're beating a dead horse by opening this topic. The software isn't built based on your requirements, it is based on what they can do to please the most customers. If you don't like things, post in the tech support forums for suggestions on how to change them.
Just because you, or a couple people that agree with you, think these features just have to be brought back or else civilization will collapse, doesn't mean they will be brought back. Software evolves, accept that and move on.

Not every decision IPS makes is because there is a post on the forums asking for a change to be made.
