Sometimes a members e-mail will become invalid, for a variety of reasons.  It would be be great if a moderator / admin could set a flag that the members email is invalid which can serve 2 purposes.  First, if the flag is set, do not send e-mail to that invalid address and second when the member accesses the system send them to a screen to update their e-mail address (with an explanation why).

 

 

One of the most powerful parts of any community is to be able to reference historical posts and items.  The search function is a very powerful tool, but the implementation on IPB needs revision.  My community does not require an external search (Sphinx) but that is the only way for me to get a functional search.

 

In many technical areas, the hyphen "-" is an important part of an item.  In my case, models of tractors are hyphenated such as C-160, or B-80 and such.  There are also part numbers like 123-456 and the native search can not search for it.  In a recent release, this functionality became part of the Forums with Sphinx.  My members are VERY happy being able to search for the above.  The issue is it doesn't work in other areas of the community, specifically downloads.  It would be great to have a robust search which would allow for special characters AND be consistent across the community.

I have many members who have changed their e-mail addresses but haven't changed their address in the forum and I am receiving the non-deliverable e-mails.  It would be great for the admin to set a flag (or we can completely delete the e-mail address from their account) to force members to enter a valid e-mail address on their next access to the forum sending them through the validation process again.  Just asking the members to do it doesn't work.

It would be great if Nexus could had the ability to tie a category to a member.  This way authorized members could setup "mini" store's for themselves and have payments, invoices and ship notices get routed directly to them.
