What frustrates you? I'd like to know. If we're going to improve the editor, then the more information you provide, the better.
I think people have been saying for weeks now how they don't like clicking the light switch and then losing all the bbcode buttons...

#1987542 Report Center Notifications

Posted Cap'n Refsmmat on 15 July 2010 - 12:02 AM

I'm getting settled in our vB->IPB conversion, and I'm starting to take advantage of the Report Center. Back in vB, all reports had their own thread in a private forum; we'd discuss problem members, decide what to do in threads, and so on. It was useful.

Since the reports were in threads, they showed up in the Get New Posts search. In IPB, they're in their own center, and I get a notification when a new report is made -- but I get no notification when a moderator replies to one, and I have no easy way to check if there are new replies at all. This is very inconvenient when we're trying to have a discussion in the report.

It would be excellent if the Report Center would issue a notification for replies to reports in forums you're a moderator in, like it does for new reports. Also, as someone has suggested before, including queued posts, warnings, and so on -- perhaps a mini moderator log -- in the Report Center would be exceedingly handy. I could see if spam has been removed, threads moved, topics closed, and so on, and keep track of queued posts and reports that need to be dealt with.

#1984062 Search text enclosed in quotes won't allow words shorter than 3 characters

Posted karll on 08 July 2010 - 09:31 AM

On the advanced search page there is an example for how to search for a string by enclosing it in quotes. The example is: "enclosing it in quotes". However, this won't work as it gives the following response:

Quote

One or all of your search keywords were below 3 characters or you searched for words which are not allowed, such as 'html', 'img', etc, please increase the length of these search keywords or choose different keywords.

I reported this as a bug, but was told it was working as intended: http://community.inv...n-3-characters/

So I think this is silly :) and needs to be changed. A user might want to search for a specific phrase that contains words of length < 3, although the phrase itself would be longer. (In either case, the example on the advanced search page is wrong as it doesn't work ...)
