In Topic: Coming from vBulletin

Hi there,

I switched from vBulletin 3.8 to IPB a few months ago and the reason was because I felt vBulletin was actually holding my community back. I wasn't getting nearly as much traffic as I am getting now. My members weren't as active. Like you, it was hard to keep a pleasing look for the vBulletin and the modding scene (in my opinion) is dying out. I also didn't want to stay on outdate software any longer and wanted something that was still being actively developed that fit my needs (vBulletin 4 didn't) so I made the switch over and never looked back. :-)

The per-group "show group on moderating team page?" setting I suggested would address this and let every admin choose for themselves which groups they'd like on that page. The exact duties of admins and moderators vary from forum to forum - super mods are in the position to deal with account issues on my sites, for instance - so I feel there should be some room for customization in this area.
^ This. This has been a feature both vBulletin and MyBB have had for years! and I could be wrong but i'm pretty sure Xenforo has this as well...what's IPB's excuse for not including a simple setting in the adminCP? :P

Then if that true why not add a contact us part of IP.Board built in system from?
Yes exactly. Much like what vBulletin has in their setup. :) Have a "Contact us" page or form with info on how to get in touch with the site admin(s). :)

Have you re-built the usernames?

Yes I'm pretty sure this is possible to do using IPB's "if" conditionals but i'm not sure what the actual if statement around the code would need to be. :) You'd have to ask a developer for the answer to that question. However, I'm fairly certain it's possible to accomplish what you are asking, with IPB. :)
