#2237067 Why Can't You Guys Keep This Simple?

How dare this software evolve! Shame on IPS, I should not have to redo my skins twice a decade.

#2230495 The Moderating Team page

Listing administrators on the moderating team page is a catch 22.  I agree they shouldn't inherently be listed (unless they are also super moderators) as administrative vs moderator duties are separated, however many clients feel they should be (because if a user has an account issue, they may go to that page to find an administrator to contact about it).

The per-group "show group on moderating team page?" setting I suggested would address this and let every admin choose for themselves which groups they'd like on that page. :) The exact duties of admins and moderators vary from forum to forum - super mods are in the position to deal with account issues on my sites, for instance - so I feel there should be some room for customization in this area.

Then if that true why not add a contact us part of IP.Board built in system from?

#2121544 What do you think of 3.2?

Something like "I don't like the merge of photos and avatars" is a completely valid complaint. "I won't be upgrading ever again because everything is too squire looking and the offline image has moved" is not. These are simple skin edits which aren't hard to figure out on your own if you know HTML and CSS. Even if you don't, someone on the forum or in ticket support will more than certainly be glad to help you with it. I wanted to know how to trigger a modal box, and I got an answer a couple hours later.

Maybe you need to re-read the subject of this thread, it's not a thread about 3.2 complaints, the topic is "What do you think of 3.2?", and what people did was give their honest opinions of what they thought of 3.2. So what is your issue with people giving their honest opinions about what they thought about 3.2? Sounds like you are just looking to disagree with other members. I am not sure why some members feel the need to behave in such a manner. I certainly didn't post in this thread to argue with members such as yourself about what I thought about 3.2.

Whether something is easy or not is relative to the individual, so a simple skin edit for you may be something very difficult for someone who has little to no experience with modifying skins. This is why it's good to try and look at things from the perspective of someone who may not the same experience as yourself. :)

#2116501 "Like" Status Updates

Not every feature is going to be built-in, the product isn't designed to be exactly what everyone wants, that's not possible.  That's why the hooks system exists, so that you can install this if you want this feature, and I don't have to have it if I don't want it.
I understand that.. But seeing as just about every other type of content uses the "like" system, it seems status updates should too. It's a matter of consistency. I dont think its far fetched to ask something like this to be built in.

If we were talking about an arcade system on the other hand..or bloatware thats another story.

You should fix the topic title man. It should be IPB > VB 3.8.

As most +Active Customers will tell you, IPS doesn't give release dates.  I wish they did because then I could have an idea of when the next version MIGHT be released, or at least when there should be a better idea of an actual release.  However, as BacTalan said, whenever they have given an estimated date (not a guaranteed date!) then they encounter problems with people expecting a release.  Apparently, some people can't tell the difference between a goal and a guarantee.  They say that perception is reality, so go figure that people hear(read) what they want instead of what is actually said.

That said, the "When It's Ready™" is the best answer you can expect to get.

From past experience, I can tell you that a release before July is unlikely.  True, v3.1.0 is basically v3.0.x with some added features, but those features still need to go through testing to find and fix bugs, and as they are fixed, more bugs are found and little feature tweaks are performed.  Mind you, it's possible to be released before July (since it's not a full major release), but it's best to plan for July and then if it happens sooner, be happy.  If not, then you weren't waiting and expecting a release for four months.  Either way, you benefit.

quit repeating what everybody else says in order to get an extra point. Someone said the official answer is when it's ready. you don't need to repeat it 4 times in the same topic.
