It has been feature locked for a while actually.
The search re-write was a needed step to sort out some fundamental issues with the search framework and today's Facebook API updates are needed because of the uncertain future of the current APIs we're using. I'm working on the last feature on our internal roadmap before we can publicly release.
#1944287 ipb 3.1 will be released in 2010?
