I create a website that would allow individuals to rate their affiliate programs at http://www.ratemyap.com/.
I hope that webmasters, forum owners, and bloggers will use this site to rate and discuss different affiliate programs they use on their sites. I have seen several sites that rate affiliate programs themselves. I also noticed that they are affiliates of the programs they rate. They smack of a dump list. On this site, I want the actual affiliates to evaluate the programs, not the site owner who has a vested interest in promoting the affiliate program.
If I am a member of a program I have listed on the site, I always acknowledge that in the topic.
I believe this is capitalism at its best, where we use the free market system to help make these programs better. It is not my desire to bash any program. The member will be able to rate the program using the star system in the upper right hand corner of the individual affiliate programs topic. Create a reply to explain a particular rating. I hope that the affiliate managers will use this information to make their programs better for their affiliates.
I also have a forum in the members section called Affiliate Marketing 101. In this forum I place video and articles from individuals and companies giving advice on marketing through affiliate programs. On our calendar I list available webinars from marketers, for training purposes.
We are in this to make money. The way we make money in most cases is through various affiliate programs and through collaboration.
I do not allow members to post HTML in the forum section. However, I do encourage members to create a blog to promote your website, forum, or blog. You can place your ads in the blog section of this site. One way to do this is to create a custom block that will display on the side on your blog. You should also be able to place ads in the blog itself. I recommend that you utilize the syndication options when setting up you blog, as well as, the trackback features. I use the pages feature of IPB to create links to other sites, forums, and blogs. Please feel free to add an article about your site, forum, or blog.
You can send private messages to other members and create a network of like minded individuals to help you in your efforts. You can utilize the chat room or create a private chat between you and another member if you choose.
I will also be adding article on different marketing aspect in the future.
