No, Plesk is not supported yet.  I'm honestly not sure if it ever will be out-of-the-box.  If I remember correctly, it was stated that cPanel integration is only included because IPS uses that for their hosted customers.

Not sure where you heard that, but that's not true (well, it's true that we use cPanel, but not that we won't include Plesk because of that).

I would like to add Plesk at some point.

#2127900 Feature suggestion: Related items and people who bought this also bought this

Simple request.

That when viewing a package there would be related/similar packages and something like - people who bought this package also bought these packages. you get the idea I think.

#2116020 Welcome to IP.Board 3.2.0!

Posted IPS News on 02 June 2011 - 10:01 AM

We have upgraded the IPS Community to IP.Board 3.2.0!

This is the first step in the testing process for IP.Board 3.2.0's upcoming release. We will be testing the new version here for several weeks and working on fixing issues with the goal of our first public beta release being as stable as it can be.

Please look around and help us in testing by submitting reports to our bug tracker so we can all work together to create a stable release. Keep in mind that our applications - IP.Gallery, IP.Blog, IP.Calendar, IP.Chat, IP.Downloads, and IP.Content - have also all been updated to be compatible with IP.Board 3.2 so please also test those. Your help is greatly appreciated!

You may wish to review the What's New in IP.Board 3.2 topic for information on the exciting changes in IP.Board 3.2.

Downloading IP.Board 3.2.0

IP.Board 3.2.0 is not yet available for download.

We are using it here on our company forums both as a preview for feedback and to identify any possible issues before release. Before a final release we will be testing it here on our company forums for a few weeks and then posting betas for download for all active license holders and invite you to participate in the beta testing process when we reach that milestone. When the final, supported release is made available we will make an announcement here.

As far as I can remember, somebody told me it would be possible to script an integration class for whatever server type you may wish. Although we don't have any docs on that yet.

#2081830 Bulk Mail w / WYSIWYG editor

Posted dling on 18 February 2011 - 04:10 PM

With all the upgrades, at some point I hoped we might have a better bulk emailer with WYSIWYG editor.  Is that possible?

Would help a novice like me produce more professional looking emails to our members.

#2024796 Ability to EDIT Members Status Updates

Posted TrayDish on 01 October 2010 - 03:11 PM

Right now, admin and mods can only delete or lock status updates posts.  We need the feature to also be able to EDIT it.  Many times, members put up legitimate status updates, but sometimes they mix it along with self promotional ads or bad words.  There are many times we don't want to remove - a simple editing option would solve the problem.

We can edit posts and blog comments, why can't be edit status updates?

For bad words, we tried to add the bad word to the filter list, but because it was added AFTER the status update, it didn't do anything. It'll be nice to at least have a status filter refresh so bad words can at least be applied.

#1986444 Donations for Autism Research and Support

Posted IPS News on 13 July 2010 - 11:12 AM

Invision Power Services is collecting donations for Autism Speaks using the Donations feature in our upcoming IP.Nexus product. This is a great way to test the development progress of IP.Nexus and collect funds for a good cause. IPS will donate the total amount raised, in addition to our own contribution, to support autism research and support for families. We are sure that our great community of customers will be able to raise funds for this cause and we hope you participate.

About Autism Speaks

Quote

At Autism Speaks, our goal is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders.

We are dedicated to funding global biomedical research into the causes, prevention, treatments, and cure for autism; to raising public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and to bringing hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. We are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals.

Autism Speaks aims to bring the autism community together as one strong voice to urge the government and private sector to listen to our concerns and take action to address this urgent global health crisis. It is our firm belief that, working together, we will find the missing pieces of the puzzle.

Autism Speaks. It's time to listen.

How to Donate

You can donate via the side-bar box on the IPS community index or go to the Donation section in client area.

If anyone wishes to donate directly to Autism Speaks without going through our Donation system we encourage you to do so. If you choose this route and want to be counted in the total donation amount here, please contact Charles with your donation receipt from Autism Speaks.

Thank you for your generosity and support.

#2059530 You're an idiot?

Posted bfarber on 23 December 2010 - 01:39 PM

This error message has been changed for 3.2.  I'm a little surprised this topic is now at 3 pages for a language string, while topics detailing features many customers want hardly reach 4 posts at times, but that's the nature of such things I suppose. :P

The error string appears to have been added as a temporary thing that was not actually intended to be released, and just wasn't updated afterwards.  Apologies for any offense anyone may have felt was conveyed, but I assure you it was not intended.

As this has been sorted, I think we can go ahead and close this now. :)

#2056498 You're an idiot?

Posted Breadfan on 16 December 2010 - 06:32 AM

"You're an idiot"

Yes, it definetelly means IPS staff think their customers are idiots. I do wonder though, why would anyone spend hours and hours trying to accomodate those "idiots", answer the support tickets, release updates and bug fixes, provide quality service? But who cares really, calling me an idiot when I make a stupid mistake in Admin CP, where only I can see the message is just..unforgivable. Switching to VBulletin now!

#2006436 A few ideas

Posted Wolfie on 15 August 2010 - 05:49 PM

I doubt any of these things will make it into Nexus v1.0.0 Final, so I'm just tossing it out there while it's on my mind.

* I think invoices she be editable.

* Adding an expiration date to a package (without a renewal option) is needed.  Very useful for EOL stuff.

* Separate tab for product description (detailed -vs- a summary).  Summary would be viewing the list of packages, detailed would be the package page itself.

* Button to create a custom invoice from the invoices page.  Of course through that, we should be able to select one or more customers to generate an invoice for.  Selecting more than one customer should generate one invoice per person with the same items/total.

* Lock out support options when done via the packages page.  Having a sales department as an option for support for a purchased product doesn't make sense.  Sort of like an anti-package requirement.

* Some way to tell who has downloaded a product (either via IP.Downloads or from the client area) as well as being able to hide each file or set of files, while keeping those stats.

* Be able to determine the format of the invoice numbers.  Something like {Y4}{M2}{D2}-{I3} might generate an invoice number of 20100815-004.  Even though it's probably obvious, the letter would stand for a value, the number would be a fixed set of digits.  Something like {M} would just give the month as is (like 8 instead of 08).  (Y)ear, (M)onth, (D)ay, (I)nvoice # (daily invoice count), (T)otal invoices (running total).  Also when the option to print an invoice is selected, it should tell the static date/time it was generated, not relative.

* Hidden/internal field ability, for being able to add data to a package that would be used internally only.  Could be very useful when used in conjunction with custom_actions PHP files.

I think that's all.  :)

#2002644 Why IPC is failing

Posted Carl M on 09 August 2010 - 02:11 PM

It might not be failing - but im sure many might have purchased it and then never really used it - im a person in that camp it just seems far too difficult for an average user to use. :)

#1991203 Strip whitespace in HTML

Posted bfarber on 21 July 2010 - 05:36 PM

While it may sound nice on the surface, it's useless if you're already using Gzip (which is much more efficient at this sort of thing anyways).  Gzip transparently strips whitespace while compressing the page, however the final result once gunzipped retains the whitespace for easier source code viewing.  win-win

#1909012 "Add Friend" icon misleading

I thought the "add friend" icon was a "go to member page link".

#1935567 Welcome to IP.Board 3.1!

Posted Matt on 01 April 2010 - 09:48 AM

I've just updated this board to the very latest development copy.

Please perform a hard refresh / delete any browser caches to ensure the very latest JS and CSS is retrieved by your browser. If you experience any JS errors or 'missing' features, it is likely to be a stale browser cache.

This update brings numerous fixes and a few additions:

- Colour picker on 'Background Color' field in the User's CP.
Posted Image

- Collapsable side bar blocks
Posted Image

- Topic preview pop-up displays the first match when searching

We have received a lot of feedback about the notifications system and this is very much on our list to improve.

#1927975 Why there is no social groups utillity developed by ips ?

Posted Razasharp on 18 March 2010 - 08:28 AM

Member created groups are important for large sites, and sites where there can be a lot of contentious topics.

When a site gets to a certain size it becomes too difficult to keep track of all new content. Who's got time to read through hundreds of new threads _every-day_ ? Maybe they're just interested in certain topics.

When does someone who keeps opposing a certain idea become a troll?  We've all seen people get labelled as trolls when they keep posting against certain things (even tho, we as admins, know they're only expressing their opinion). Member created groups lets like-minded people get together and talk in 'peace'.

That's just two of the main benefits of member created groups and content filtering (such as filter by friends list).

I think IPS should start official threads discussing commonly suggested items like this - as it takes up too much time having to reply to every thread that crops about the topic... and we sure do get a lot about social groups ;)
