#2187113 Suggestion for IP.Downloads 2.5.0

Posted Adriano Faria on 25 October 2011 - 01:36 PM

Please, add a new feature to avoid users to downvoting files without download it, specially those paid!

It has no sense to allow a vote if the user didn't donwloaded it and tested it.

Thank you.

#2093304 Contact Us in 3.2?

Posted Genestoy on 21 March 2011 - 03:25 PM

Are we finally going to get a "Contact Us" tab in 3.2? Many have asked for this for a LONG time now  and before anyone says a "mod" can do the same thing many times an author does make a mod then when IPB versions change the author no longer supports it so you are stuck again. Come on IPS it is 2011 integrate a "Contact Us" form and make it settable in the ACP as "Active" or "In-Active" so those that want it can use it and those that don't can turn it off.

#2089819 E-Mail Format / Content

The E-Mail format / content for all by IP.Nexus send E-Mails should become a professional "look and feel".

Example: All E-Mails missing a "Footer" like "Your BOARDNAME Team" or something else (with a placeholder for "BOARDNAME").

(Yes, i know, everyone can edit the language pack, but that could never be the intention)

Hello :)

For now, edit the language strings.

It is something I'd really like to add though. It makes more sense for something like this though to be added to IP.Board's core rather than IP.Nexus as all applications send emails.

Possibility to search strings in specific word pack would be usefull.

For example I want to search word and and I got few hundreds results. That's horrible.

#2125259 Still no way to easily create navigation tabs

Posted qscott86 on 18 June 2011 - 03:26 PM

I (and others) have suggested this several times, but I still don't understand why IPB doesn't allow one to easily add custom navigation tabs/buttons (like the forums, members, etc buttons at the top).  I am aware that you can edit the skin to do this, but this should be easily done through the ACP.  This would be especially useful for those with IP.content integrated into their IPB installation.

Mark, any word on if the original issue here is being addressed? I'm holding off on using Nexus right now, so any insight would be great, so I know if I am waiting for a reason. Thank you.

It's on my list to look into for 1.3 (which will be released alongside or very shortly after IP.Board 3.2).

I'll likely remove the PayPal logo buttons and just use the standard "Confirm" button which will use PayPal subscriptions if that option would be available.

That's not definite though, so please nobody say "It would work better if..." - like I say, I'll dedicate some time to researching options when developing 1.3 :)

IP.Nexus has PayPal subscriptions (that works much better than IP.Subscriptions ;)) but it also gives the user the option to make a one-off payment if they so choose (and then will just expire the package if they don't renew).

Not sure what difference it makes - people will just cancel the PayPal subscription if they want to stop paying.
I don't think it works better.  In fact, I've lost so much money converting to nexus, I could pay for 100 users here to have IPB.  IP.Subscriptions worked great and I thought nexus just had a lot more features that I had been requesting for subscriptions so I went ahead and convert.  Boy did I make the wrong decision.  Bug after bug, money loss after money loss, time loss after time loss.  It's horrendous for a product that is approaching it's 1.3 life.

I know you said not to say "it would work better if"...what I'm saying is "it would actually WORK if" you did the same thing with nexus that you did with subscription in which you stated the length of time which the package is for, and whether you want the package to be a one time payment or a recurring payment (as I said, just like subscriptions).  That worked and was of no hassle to the consumer or the owner!!!  Not to mention I actually got a lot more recurring payers because I listed it like:
1 Month Subscription (1 time payment)
RECURRING 1 Month Subscription

I had to make an extra package than what I currently have for nexus, but SO WHAT?!  It's the system that works and has worked for us when we used ip.subscriptions.  I don't know how many tickets I've created in just the bugs we've been encountering in Nexus, but it's pretty darn close to all my other issues combined...but nexus is losing me money by the day.  I hope 1.3 rectifies many of the issues I've been having to deal with.

I looked it up: 0 have been escalated for the attention of developers.

If you have any outstanding issues you consider bugs that you'd like me to look into, please, ask for the ticket to be escalated :)
Multiple bugs in multiple tickets (not even mentioning the length/# of replies of each ticket...) and they've been fixed already...aside from the 1 ticket I have right now that has been escalated to tier III thank you very much...

Brilliant, now all my subscribers are sending in manual payments because they're getting renewal notices and no sign that they're already subscribed via PayPal (from before).

What happened to my stuff from IP.Subscriptions post-upgrade? Didn't have this problem before.

*grumble*

This is going south, really fast. :(

I have all the same issues and have brought it up quite a few times.  For the record Mark has said this may be fixed in the future but as yet there is no timeline and I am unsure if there is any urgency towards fixing this issue for those of us that upgraded from IP subscriptions.  Maybe if enough people bring it up there will be an eventual solution.  And yes it's a crazy expensive problem.  I had to raise prices to make up for the lost revenue and the site is still sinking financially but it's too late to switch to another system since there is no downgrade path back to IP. subscriptions.

#2087593 Product Options..

Posted AlexJ on 06 March 2011 - 11:06 PM

Custom product options don't get copied over when you click, 'Duplicate'. It would be nice, if every single setting can be copied when you click on 'Duplicate'. Will make adding packages much easier.

Thanks.

Not sure what difference it makes - people will just cancel the PayPal subscription if they want to stop paying.

OK to give you my example. I have a site sponsor subscription which is a regular donation towards the forum. The section is available to anyone who subscribes to a monthly donation on my site, so I dont want people signing up for it then just making the one of payment as that defeats the object of having it in the first place, as I wil get some who will do it just for a month to gain access for that month then not bother whether they lose it afterwards or not. The reality is generally if people site up to a subscription that is automatic of this kind they are more likley to keep with that subscription. Therefore IMO just for this simple thing IP.Nexus is actually worse for me than subscriptions was because at least with subscriptions it only did a subscribable item as a recuring payment if I chose the recuring payment option. The work that has gone into nexus is excellent, however I can honestly say had I known this in advance I would never have purchased it. Something so simple, yet it is so very important IMO.

+1 for having an option to only show the Paypal Subscribe button when people select a product with monthly payments. That's basically the whole reason we want monthly payments, so that people can set it and forget it. Lots of people are bound to hit the wrong button when you have both there

#2057478 Paypal Subscription only

OK Going back to this...... The whole problem in the first place for me (and I suspect others) is that I give people a service on my forum if they "Subscribe" to donations. However I cannot since updating to ip.content ensure that this is the only option a user has on these items.

Basically I want to add an item which can only be purchased using an automatic monthly subscription because this is the whole idea of the package type. If they choose the single payment option, they simply havent purchased that item and instead just made a donation. I am giving people on my forum extras because they set up a monthly automatic payment that pays for our servers.

#1939106 [Suggestion] Tabbed Page Wizard

Posted Br4nd0nW on 09 April 2010 - 12:33 PM

I had an idea on how creating pages with IP.Content could greatly be simplified and yet, organized. I thought it'd be a brilliant idea if instead of constantly hitting the "Continue" button at the bottom of the page if you guys would simply tab each part instead. That way if I made a mistake on one of the previous steps I can rectify the error without having to hit Cancel and start all over again or finish going through the wizard and go back and re-edit the page.
