I wanted to know how secure the security was and if I'd have need to worry about this pest wreaking havoc if I bought a packaged deal and started up a new site.

Invision is pretty safe if you keep your board update to the last version (which seems your webmaster didn't) and of course if you pay attention to the settings of the server.

If you're not an expert I suggest you to have ips to install the board (it's free and included in the cost of the license) I also recommend you to choose IPS as hosting company in this way you will be 110% safe

Dumb question. If a user is banned on board A, is he/she also banned on board B? Or is the banning per board?

No, he/she must be manual banned per board

In Topic: IP.Converge with IP.Board 3.2?

...but are we sure that it works?

If I make the sign out from the board and then log in with IP Converge, (
http://login.ipslink...=login&do=login ) Converge say "log in is sucessfull" but on the board I'm  a "guest" :(

I agree with your choice of using ipb as mainframe for your site.

However I would avoid making any custom integration between ipb and wiki.

Future updates of one or these CMS may make the integration a nightmare.

I am creating a wiki for my site too, and I decided not to integrate wiki and ipb, preferring to integrat only the graphics only making the wiki look very similar to ipb.
