We told you how to fix it...just revert the template. Would you like me to do it for you?

Please also remember that Tracker is a rather complex system behind the scenes.
To say the least. :ermm:

Just a quick question to the new devs:

How long (you think) you/the team will need to fix all open bugs? We still have at this moment 50x General, 2x Skin, 12x Minimal and 10x Unconfirmed open tracker entrys and (for now with a team of 5 devs) it does not done much at the tracker... I had hoped for more from the "new team"...

I think it a touch inappropriate to post something like that directed to people volunteering to make something.

#2264518 App now available

Fully agree, the point you're missing tough is that IPS now releases it's own "mandatory tapatalk" that anyone can use to surf your community. Nobody can surf my community with tapatalk because I decided it. Here, decision is out of my hands.

I'm struggling to see the logic in this. It'd be like banning people from using Opera because you didn't like that browser or disagreed with the way it does business. Surely you want as many eyes on your forum as possible? And if that means using a fully developed mobile app designed and written by the team that makes the software then so be it? If your users want to purchase the app and are happy to do so, then why go out of your way to stop them?

I disagree.

The mobile App has diplomatic immunity, in a way:

From Matt:

Quote

The key thing to remember is that you can join *any* IP.Board community with a single app.

Maybe for some, ip board users only use one board, but given the huge popularity of the ips software, this app gives the user the freedom to visit a multitude of communities.

My users can buy the mobile app if they choose, or they can use our/the default mobile skin. They have more choices, not less. They have more apps and ways to use and consume the ip board communities out there.

Alarm bells? Not in my book!
  • User privacy on IP Board - safeguarded
  • Gathering user information to sell to third parties - safeguarded
  • Extraordinary FREE spam filters - peace of mind

Also looking forward to this--just upgraded to 3.3.1 (from 3.2.3) yesterday and I'm eager to get IP.Tracker back on my site.  Glad to see progress is being made once again on this project!!

#2260265 "tree" view

Posted Shigure on 27 April 2012 - 01:50 PM

I hate that view. It makes no sense to me at all.

#2260163 "tree" view

Posted bfarber on 27 April 2012 - 08:42 AM

I would argue that the unsophisticated users are far more confused by a "threaded" or "tree" approach to viewing topics than a linear/"flat" approach used by modern forum software.  As a power user, even I get confused when I reach threaded topics on (typically very very old) message boards.

We are working on this behind the scenes.  When there is news, we will let everyone know.

That's great to hear. I can't wait to hear any "official" news. Thanks!
