  1. Show us your IPB 4 sites!

Upgraded yesterday - http://www.trials-forum.co.uk, the skin is still pretty standard with a few small tweaks. More to come.
  2. Forum Media System

    Also, does it support vimeo?
  3. Forum Media System

Looks great! I will probably use it just for the hook to show the latest video on board index. Is there a task to go through existing topics and extract all the videos?
  4. IP.Board 3.4 Dev Update: VigLink

We used it for 6 months or so, got pretty good returns. Using skimlinks now though.
  5. Did this ever get added back in? I miss it too.
  6. IP.Board 3.2.0: Front-end Changes Afoot

    Looks great :)
  7. Suggestion: 3.2.0 Profiles

Agreed. Less JS cleverness in all of 3.2 would be nice, especially the profile page!
  8. Well, in short, assuming this server is not a single core (fairly safe bet, i'd say), you're wrong. Take 5 minutes to read up on load averages http://blog.scoutapp.com/articles/2009/07/31/understanding-load-averages ;) EDIT: however, I do agree, its not as fast as it could be. For want of a better word, its not 'snappy'.. its not slow either, but it really should load pretty much instantly every time. I wonder what yslow says.
  9. IP.Nexus 1.1 Dev Update: Advertisement Enhancements

Flippin brilliant. Will buy as soon as its released.
  10. Gallery 4 - Structural Changes

Ran, I guess you would create a new user group called 'photographers' and restict the category upload permissions to that group. Matt, good job on simplifying the gallery, its way over due. I've been trying to get my members to use it, but thats pretty difficult when you don't understand what on earth is going on in the first place!
  11. IP.Content 2.1 Dev Update: Block Improvements

Some excellent additions there :) Any chance of feed pagination? For example, I have a database with multiple categories. For the main page I want to list the latest records from all categories. I can do this with feeds, but its limited to X records. Ideally I'd like an option of 'all records, X per page'. If this could make it onto the list of things to do (or alternatively, create a special category which pulls records from all categories) I'd much appreicate it!
  12. IP.Chat Completely Unreliable

I can't believe people have repped you for this post, they are obviously as misinformed as yourself. "It will exlode into thousands of errors" - lol. Invision, out of interest, how are your servers handling the chat - XAMPP?
  13. Live Module

Huge bump. But has there been any further thoughts on this? If not, when I get the time I might try and implement this with IP Content and a bunch of hooks. I don't know what the hooks would be called, but I'm guessing insert a new row into an IP Content DB on postTopicCreate, postStatusUpdate, postRegister. And a few custom ones for me, postVideoUpload, postFeedbackSubmit etc. Then simply use IP Content to create a feed and bosh it onto the forum index page. Sounds simple enough - and I don't see how it would be that resource intensive. Probably around 200-300 inserts per day in total on my forum.
  14. IP.Nexus Dev Update: Advertisements

Hi Mark, We could do with time based banners too. Generally we say to advertisers 'we'll show your banner 600,000 times over a period of 3 months'. openAds does its best to spread the views out equally over the time period - adjusting the weighting of the banner each hour depending on how many times it has 'randomly' been shown. Another thing that openAds does is let you specify a priority for each banner. So paid banners could have a priority of 100, and free banners a priority of 1. To be fair, the logic behind open ads must be absolutely nuts and I wouldn't want to attempt to replicate it myself! but even if we could just say 'we'll add your banner to the pool of paid banners for X months' that'd be great. Cheers, looking good so far :)
  15. Recent Activity for 3.1?

I'll be writing something like this for IP.Content. It'll just be a simple database, 3 fields to store 'user' 'did' 'something'. Then some hooks to add rows as people do stuff. Should be simple :)
