  1. marklcfc added a post in a topic Still no "Only search in titles" option

I'll give you an example. Say someone wanted to find a topic from years back, some guy on here created it and they agreed with it so much (can't blame them really) and yet that feature has still been ignored. This is the topic - http://community.invisionpower.com/topic/347655-forum-jump/
and all they can remember is the title, forum jump. So we'll search that. And here is the result. http://community.invisionpower.com/search/?term=forum+jump&type=forums_topic
Now, where is that topic? I've tried it on OR and AND terms and it's not on the first page, not on the second, not on the third.. gave up. If we had search by titles, it would be found.
So can someone explain, how I would find that topic?

What if I only want to find topics with a certain phrase in the title then?
It's going to take longer to find it if I've to filter through no end of posts containing that same phrase.

    How's that then?
When everything is in a list you can see the last post date much more clearly, in the grid you can't. But I'm sure you'll convince some.

Too many tiny things to you have been either removed or changed, creates a bigger problem as users are having to change the way they use the forum. And in most ways it certainly isn't easier.

Quite amazing that it's still not available.

    Forim jump / quick nav
i admit I've talked about this till I'm blue in the face. Pre 3.2 we had forum jump which made navigation so much easier. This was replaced with quick navigation which I was never a fan of, so can understand its removal in 4.0 but now we're left with no forum jump and no quick nav.
I noticed xenforo and vbulletin are stil making use of a feature like this. Why are invision insistent on removing a well used feature?

    Signatures
Any chance of showing signatures only when viewing on a desktop. it is annoying having to scroll even further on mobiles now.

No upgrade for me unless I turn me forum off for a week, maybe then it would complete

It took me 2 hours to get from  16.12% to 16.43% once it started on the posts table on a beta version of the converter. I was hoping it was quicker as I won't be able to upgrade, otherwise.

If it's that far off they should at least tell us, save me wasting time on here.

Looks nice but I think the menu icon on tablet and mobile should have better options when first clicked. For instance view new posts should definitely be accessible without having to go through another section, as view new content disappears from the main screen when on a tablet or mobile

Is it possible to add the link myself?

  14. marklcfc added a post in a topic Can we expect a 3.4.7?

    I replaced it with this
    <php> $ie11fix = "edge"; if (isset($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']) && (strpos($_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'], 'Trident/7') !== false)) $ie11fix = "EmulateIE10"; </php> <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE={$ie11fix}" /> Should I use the other one you posted instead??

Well forums is the main part of user interaction, and by far the most important of the 'suite'. Your choice but I certainly hope IPS are not lessoning the importance of forums.
