  1. Where's a good website to find themes?

    The best skins and support.
  2. Can i convert from xenforo to ips4?

Do you still plan on specifically releasing one for Xenforo for a fresh install of 4 or is this going to be the only way?
  3. Theme updates (code changes)

They should provide a report almost ever other forum software maker does. After each release there should be a change log so that designers can know what to update/change. I find it strange that no official staff member has at least made a comment about it. At least an acknowledgement or something. Hope you guys get some sort or response soon @ehren. @Tom Christian and others.
  4. I can personally say I have used them both. I have a license for both. I started off back in the day with SMF then moved to IPB. I had been on IPB for many years. Then Xenforo came out. And everyone was jumping on the band wagon. So I converted my forum over and ran on it for some time. There are a few thing that I like about xenforo. But I only ran it for maybe 5 months then switched back to IPB. I don't really ever plan on going back either. I found the ACP very confusing unlike IPB. I think once you get in the ACP panel on both you will see what I mean. The code and skins are way easier to work with on IPB. I know Xenforo is still young. But IPB is so matured and coming along nicely. I can't wait to see 4.0. From all the little things I have seen lately on it, it's gonna be great. I will admit that some of the SEO stuff was a little weak in IPB awhile back, but it keeps getting better. I think while Vbulletin and Xenforo were arguing in court, IPB was just plugging along and making improvements. I think that really hurt xenforo, and basically destroyed Vbulletin. But now I am getting off-topic. Also I just wanted to mention that the support here is awesome not just by the staff but with users in general. But I can personally say from a user that has both licenses that IPB is the way to go for me. Try it for yourself and make your own judgement. Best of luck in your choosing, but you can't go wrong with IPB.
  5. Spam Service Updates

    Nice work!
  6. IPS 4.0 Design wishlist

I like both Tom's and Joelle's suggestions. I also think it's time for something new and revamped.
  7. Thanks for your input on this matter Peter Parker. I noticed this on your .htacess file: RewriteRule . / [L] The default one from IPB is like this: RewriteRule . /index.php [L] Just wondering did you remove it yourself? Sorry just trying to get the best info for all of us so we can get this straightened out. I appreciate your input.
  8. Glad to see it's working. I would really like to hear a response from IPB on this. Even their own site has duplicate 200 pages which isn't good for SEO canonicalization. You can test their page also. Maybe they will add this to a future patch so that everyone that runs IPB can benefit from it. More SEO is never a bad thing right?
  9. Ok I wasn't going to let this go. I think I may have a solution for us. Try adding these to your .htaccess file: First one is for the redirect for your your www. links. RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www. RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] The second I believe fixes our /index.php dual 200 error. RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9} /.*index.php HTTP/ RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] So all together I have: <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> Options -MultiViews RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule .(jpeg|jpg|gif|png)$ /public/404.php [NC,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www. RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^[A-Z]{3,9} /.*index.php HTTP/ RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$ http://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] </IfModule> Now when I tried this and ran it though a couple of seo redirect checks they are coming back good now. I can also log into ACP etc. Maybe you can try and post your results and see if it fixes your problem too. I am no genius at this stuff but would really like to have this fixed. I just wish IPB would fix this on their default one in the ACP list that we all use. It would really help with canonicalization problems. Anyways I hope this helps some of you or maybe someone that knows a little more than me can look this over and make sure it's correct and we can all help each other to get a solution for IPB. Hope this helps!
  10. Yup same thing happened to me. This is what I was using when I posted my .htaccess. code. If fixes the 200 problem, but then you can't login to ACP or the site. I just wish IPB would chime in with a fix. I bet the would know because i believe it has something to do with the RewriteRule . /index.php [L] part of it. I am just using the defualt one that they recommend at the moment. Like I said I know it's something real simple that we are missing. I even tried removing and playing with the RewriteRule . /index.php [L] last night but still can't get it figured out. Does anyways have an idea? Think of all the sites that are using the default .htaccess code that are getting duplicate 200s. IPB should really fix this so it works out of the box.
  11. Yes now you see what I am running into. Mine is the same also. I tried a ticket to IPB but they said that they can't help with this. So it looks like we are on our own. I think its something simple. If you run the test on the website of the original poster of this thread his site. It's coming back good so maby he could post his .htacess file of maybe he knows what we are doing wrong. Or maybe someone can help us. I am sure it's a simple setting.
  12. Thanks for the info cyberpedz. But when I run a check i am even showing that you have duplicate 200 requests. Check here: Mine is the same as yours. I believe we only want one 200 request.
  13. There must be something wrong with what I posted above. When I am running that I can't login to site or ACP.
  14. Thanks for the info, But I do have a question when I do a redirect test check everything comes back with a 301, which is good and my defualt comes back with a 200? Is this normal since it's where everything is getting re-routed too? Here is what I am using below. Does this look correct? <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> Options -MultiViews RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule .(jpeg|jpg|gif|png)$ /public/404.php [NC,L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteCond %{THE_REQUEST} ^.*/index.php RewriteRule ^(.*)index.php$$1 [R=301,L] </IfModule>
