2CO is offered by IPS but they are not saying how recurring payments work in 4.0 and there is no documentation. The recurring option was removed from the gateway settings. I have no idea what is going to happen to old and new recurring payments when I upgrade, how to enable, etc. They posted in this topic but then they disappeared.
Exactly. And admin never know. This could even be malicious if members want to fill up the server. Hiding pics from view is not a good idea. Especially when the intent is to post. They could be unwittingly hidden or members could get in the habit of uploading an album's worth and choosing what they want from the thumbs and saving. And the wasted resources are hidden. If the thumb is there they won't do that, and if they uploaded something by mistake, they would see it in the thumb. Bringing the thumbnail back or a remove orphan task should be considered. Or is this a bug?
If I do not add the attachment to the post, and save, it is not displaying as a thumb at the bottom like in 3.4. Is this correct or a bug? I can see a lot of unused attachments taking up space. Does an orphan task take care of these?
Brilliant! Thanks! I just tested this and it works like I need. If deleting is off they can actually still delete by editing the post which is good as they should be able to remove a mistake upload, etc. But they cannot delete from My Attachments, which prevents bulk deletion as well, and if you prevent editing after a certain time, that also prevents them from removing from the post. But the window allows them enough time to delete if needed. This is perfect thanks for letting me know! IPS, great thinking with that setting.
Would removing the My Attachments menu from their settings resolve this? And is that possible with a hook? I still have members removing attachments, somehow, not knowing it removes them from their content. I'm not sure what they are thinking but it does happen. I'm not sure what My Attachments is for other than deleting so maybe I can just remove that, except for Admin.
Is this a possibility? I don't know of any other area you can't edit your content, why here? You can edit a FB status. Only makes sense. These a full-featured posts now. It's odd mods/admin can't even edit their own or other statuses. How was that overlooked? How can you moderate a status? You can't. Only delete. Permission-based editing would solves all this.
It's possible when you are in a topic and it lets you know that people replied while you are in that topic and you click to read it could happen, not sure, but that is not a refresh. I would report as it sounds like a problem in some situations. You may want to mention that, and yours. Any non-refresh situation I guess.
I'll assume the mark unread is coming soon but wanted to point out a few things also. In 3.4 the date is also is updated. So if I post at 3:33 and post another, it merges and says 3:34. In 4.0 it is not changing, which causes confusion. The marking unread and bumping will help but the time should be updated like in 3.4. But also when you add a post, edit it, and then add a new post, it merges, and the edit time is the older one not the merge date. Seeing as the post date is also not updated, this really causes confusion. One or the other, or both should be updated otherwise it makes the post look physically impossible. There is new info added but the edit time and post date pre-date the information. Updating the post date should address but I believe the edit date should also be updated as the physical post is being edited automatically. Yes the edit button wasn't used, but a process edited the post by adding info and it only makes sense if it was edited that be updated. If it wasn't edited using the edit button pre-merge the updated post date would suffice. If you think about it logically, how could a post date be later than an edit date? In 3.4 I use an hour window so you can see how these setting will confuse in 4.0. Thanks.
