  1. If this is the wrong forum to post my question, I apologize.  I'd just like to know how would one delete their notifications from their notifications list? I clicked to "View all notifications", but I can't seem to find anywhere to delete the list. Appreciate any help.  By the way, does the editor have a "Preview Post" button? If so, where is it? If not, never mind lol
  2. Fake a few members on new boards

In our case it was different. I already had the Forum members and we just joined forces with a very popular site and the members just went along with it. However, I don't see any true harm is using this method on a short temporary basis. As long as you provide your REAL members with consistent, current content, nobody will know and doesn't need to know that you're using "fake members" as a start-up strategy. At the same time, I also believe that it will eventually become somewhat tiresome for the Owner/Admin and um...shall I say...pathetic to continue to do this even after you start accumulating daily active members. Perhaps for every few new active members you "inactivate" one of your "fake" members and so on until your left with only real members and then you take it from there. Just my two cents on the subject.
  3. 4.0 Better Skin Control

    Awesome news Mark!
  4. 4.0 - Introducing the new AdminCP

Looks awesome and promising. I also see that there's no awkward, crazy fire pink either. Now that's a plus as well.
  5. You could set your board to NOT allow members to change their usernames. If they wish to change it, they can contact you and you can then check the ACP to make sure it's not an old banned members name.
  6. Latest Topics in Sidebar

Thank you for sharing this and your other hooks for free, Jakub W. It's pretty rare nowadays around here to find a great hook that doesn't come with a price tag.
  7. Tweet embedding

I seriously don't see the issue here with embedding tweets. People use it all the time. It credits the original person who tweeted and it leaves the link to their twitter account where the original tweet was made. Plus, it even shows the photo of who originally tweeted it. How much more credit do you want to give them? I don't understand your argument here. It's basically the same as posting a small sentence of an article, then leaving the link to it. It's actually much more better than just leaving the link. I'd be more flattered seeing someone quote a tweet I made this way than just leaving a link to it. Sushubh_merged also makes some very good valid points in his comments above me as well.
  8. Best Answers, Unusable . . .

My thoughts as well. Perhaps there was a glitch/bug that's causing the whole post to be shown instead of just an excerpt. Maybe, as you mentioned, IPS will further look into this and fix it so just an excerpt will show.
  9. Best Answer - Community option

This would be a good idea since what could be the best answer for the OP may not be the best answer for the rest of the members.
  10. Tweet embedding

    What Ryan and Dmacleo said.
  11. Facebook Embed

Or you can try this Media Tag Facebook Hook by Michael.
  12. List of sites / pages done using CCS

Great work. Blends in so nicely with everything else.
  13. List of sites / pages done using CCS

Looks great and well-organized. Is that countdown timer on the sidebar a hook or just something you added yourself?
  14. Less is often (way) more

We too have lengthy rules & guidelines. We just got tired of certain members trying to fire back to the Mods a similar comment as the one you mentioned in your quote of "well I don't see that in the rules" or "I didn't know it was against the rules". I understand they're lengthy and nobody said they have to read them all, but it gives us a way to back ourselves up when certain members start breaking rules that they supposedly "didn't know were there".
