  3. [IPBLounge] Applications System

Hello! Don't know what happened with this support topic, the version is for 3.x only!  I swear I'm trying my best to do it for 4.1 but documentation is not that good guys! Also, a new version of ipb is released every 2 days (not really, but you get the idea), so it's very hard to keep the pace! I told you I'm going to do what I can, just please give me some time, the app is VERY HUGE and a lot of line of codes need update!
  4. Hello there! I'm writing because I have a suggestion here. I have developed an application (of course, I'm not going to say which one, I'm not here to do an ad campaign ) and this is the issue. With your current comment system, comments are added one after another on the element's page. Which is fine... for images, or albums. But I think this is a terrible thing for apps, since they can be updated. In my opinion, the download system must be done like Apple's appstore or Google's playstore, with comments related to a single version of the app, not the app as a whole. So you could never understand which version members are commenting about, and that's not very helpful for other members willing to get the app. In my case, the very first version of this app was really really awful - I admit it... bad text, bad graphics, lot of bugs - so I got negative comments. I worked hard and created a 2.0 version that was completely different from v 1.0, and those who bought it all said it was a wonderful app. I accept negative comments, as long as they refer to the current version. But I personally don't like people saying to me that they are not sure of getting the app because they've read the first bad comments, which, as I said before, were posted for a very old version, and watching the demo is not that helpful for them. Members also keep asking about bugs, bad text and skin issues, which they have read about on the first comments. All things that were fixed nearly one year ago. Well, hope you'll take this in consideration, as it may bring several other developers down. Thank you!
  5. [IPBLounge] Applications System

PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES,   DON'T WRITE HERE!   Write on the application support topic. Otherwise I won't be able to help you.   Thank you.
  6. 4.0 Developer Center

A centralized Developer Center is what a great community provider like Invision power was missing.   What about the ajax module? Will we have to add it from the developer center or it mustn't be added in the module list (like now)?
  7. Editor in Ips 4.0

Thank you for your reply brandon (by the way I've read an interview of yours some years ago, and some things you said on it motivated me to develop IPB apps, thank you! :D ). I expected you weren't ready to show a skin for it, so I didn't ask :D Instead, can you say something about some of its new/changed features? We're very curious! :) For example, a really nice feature would be uploading an attachment on the editor box by drag-and-drop. I know you're going to implement the drag-and-drop feature already, but I don't recall you saying it would be on the editor box or in a separate section (like now) :)
  8. Editor in Ips 4.0

Hello! I was curious about the editor in ips 4.0. Will you still be using ckeditor? Will it support html5? Will it have a new skin? Have you ever thought about switching to another editor or making your own? If yes, we might give some suggestions about other editors... I found this one: It is made with jQuery, they also claim it is 8x faster than ckeditor, supports html 5 and plugins, click-to-edit, drag-and-drop and other stuff. But it only supports ie 8+ (of course every other browser version is supported ). Are you planning to make a post about ips 4 editor?
  9. 4.0 - Tables

    You guys are awesome
  10. [IPBLounge] Topic Covers

Just watch the demo :) 1, yes, if you want, you can force this to replace the default topics list. 2. No images nor attachments nor anything else? A default "No picture Available" is shown OR you can link an image that will be displayed even if there is no image, or you can add it later :)
  11. Version

Topic Covers adds a touch of web 2.0 on your board.   It lets your members display the topics list in different visual styles that can also replace Invision Power Board one. Version 1.0 has the Dynamic Image Grid Visual style already included, made famous by Pinterest, although many other visual styles will come in the future. You are welcome to suggest us visual styles that you like    Every security check is made to make sure members can view the topics list and read the topics.    Other features include: [*]Infinite scrolling: the app automatically loads new pages while scrolling [*]Custom sort orders for each forum you want it to be enabled [*]Control who can view/edit covers [*]Inline topic reading, without leaving the topics list [*]Cache: everytime a new topic is created, the app will get its cover, in order to make everything faster [*]Light app, most of the job is made by the client side  [*]Many other features available and to come!   Get it now!

  12. 4.0 - Forms

Cool!  A question, will you add methods to create HTML5 new inputs (date, range, email)? I think I already know the answer, and it should be no, since very few browser support all of them.   I see you created a sort of range input, are you going to do a date one? I mean, when user clicks on the input, a small popup with a calendar appears. There's jquery calendar picker that does this. I know it's not vital, but it could be a very user-friendly way to select a date, and could prevent miswritten dates. :)
  13. IPS Social Suite (4.0)

Thanks mark! :)   Both jQuery and jQuery.UI right? Can't wait to see version 4.0!  I have been using IPB since 1.3, you guys rock! Keep being awesome! :)
  14. IPS Social Suite (4.0)

A question about jquery. I'm really happy to hear that you're going to switch to it.   Which version will you adopt? And will you include it on your package or link it from an external source like google or jquery? :)   Oh, and will $ be only referred to jquery or will you be using jQuery.noConflict?   Thanks! :)
  15. IPS Social Suite (4.0)

Can I suggest you to add new API methods while you proceed the developement, instead of releasing them once 4.0 is out? Of course, you'll want to add them when you're sure you won't need to change them. This will help developers know what to change and have their applications ready for the new version!
